Child Porn Investigation

More good news! Operation Joint Hammer and Operation Koala have been successful in a global child porn bust. Many abused children have been rescued from this horrible situation. This is a great victory, but we need many more:

Pat Trueman says there needs to be more prosecution. "What we need is more tools for the law-enforcement community," he contends. "Much of this material starts right here in the United States, and yet [we have] just a fraction of the resources, financial and otherwise, that we need to go after those trafficking in child pornography."

FCC Vote

We have been monitoring the upcoming vote on the free, family friendly broadband service that the FCC was going to vote on December 18th.

The vote has been canceled.

There has been some opposition from the Bush Administration, senators, representatives and wireless providers (for obvious reasons).

The AZ Family Council wrote a letter cosigned by several local and national organizations to the FCC to support the passing of the free, family friendly Internet. FCC Chair, Kevin Martin (pictured above) has been an advocate for a family friendly Internet. And for that we sincerely thank him for trying to protect us for the harmful effects of Internet pornography. His position will end when Obama takes office.

Delta and Internet

It must be the holiday season, because it's hard to find time to post! However, there is some great news to share.

Delta Airlines begins the in-flight Internet service tomorrow. Because of lawsuits and some of the raucous we have made, they are offering FILTERED Internet service.

Fox News is reporting that Christie Hefner has decided to step down as CEO of Playboy. Furthermore, Playboy is laying off and not filling several positions within the company.

Sex trafficking- in our own backyard

If you think sex trafficking only happens in Hong Kong, you're dead wrong. South Dakota has active prostitution rings forcing young girls into the destructive world of sexual trafficking. The article says:

Human trafficking has been an invisible trade here for years, with an untold number of victims, say national and regional experts and a South Dakota criminal investigator.

And, they add, it might be worse.

As neighboring states work to define and quantify the extent of the problem, experts say it is underreported and unstudied here, and the true extent of the sex trade in South Dakota remains largely unknown. It also is an act against which South Dakota has no specific law.

The Chair of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is getting in the holiday spirit by urging his agency to give Americans an unexpected present this Christmas-free broadband Internet. For the past two years, FCC boss Kevin Martin has backed a plan that would use a bundle of inactive airwaves for wireless service across the U.S. Sweetening the deal for parents is Martin's condition that the broadband not only be fee-free but porn-free. Assuming the vote passes at the FCC's December 18 meeting, the winning bidder on the project must agree to install a filter that blocks adult content. Critics have pounced on the idea, complaining that Martin's family-friendly plan violates Americans' right to smut. Hardly, FRC argues, since users still have the option of paying for a service of their choice or removing the filter once they have proven to be 18 years of age. For parents burdened by web fees and cautious about Internet sleaze, the proposal is a win-win.

FRC has been supportive of the idea since it was developed and presented to Martin, and our team will continue to work with the administration to see it through. However, if the project does not have the support of at least three of the five commissioners on December 18, the issue may not be raised again before the agency switches hands.

Fox and Profanity

Parent's Television Council writes:

On the Thursday, November 20th episode of Fox's Kitchen Nightmares, during a conversation with another individual, one man said to another, "We have Mr. Gordon on our f****** side." This use of the f-word was not bleeped, and aired at approximately 8:15 p.m. ET – only 7:15 in the Central and Mountain time zones, the very heart of the Family Hour.

Fox has sued the Federal Communications Commission for enforcing broadcast decency laws, claiming that the f-word is just a "fleeting profanity." The network is claiming it has a "First Amendment right" to air whatever language it wants, whenever it wants, no matter how many children are in the audience. But even after a hearing before the Supreme Court, Fox is not changing its behavior.

In addition to the unbleeped f-word, there were literally dozens of other partially-bleeped f-words and other profanities present in the episode. This eliminates any notion that the show's profanity is "fleeting."

Sears- Some good news!

"These days, it's tough to find companies that share your values. But this holiday season, FRC is catching some retailers in the act of doing good. At Sears, they're giving back to the community by supporting our troops. By law, employers are required to hold jobs open for any military personnel who are called up for duty. Sears is doing our soldiers one better. To protect their workers from taking a pay cut and losing their benefits when they leave for the front lines, Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits-including medical insurance and bonus programs. A Sears Customer Service rep said, "[We] regard service to our country as one of the greatest sacrifices our young men and women can make. We are happy to do our part to lessen the burden they bear." Children Exploited for Sex across the U.S.

We have got to do all we can to prevent our children from being exploited.

This story affirms why:

Girls as young as 12 are being exploited for sex in Portland, Ore., according to an NBC investigation.

Teri Williams used to be one of them. “You're a prisoner," she told NBC's Portland affiliate KGW. "No one is going to let you go. You are the pimp’s meal ticket.”

Authorities say there are hundreds of girls still stuck on the streets of Portland. Human-trafficking investigators and government researchers estimate the average pimp in the U.S. can make more than $200,000 a year off one young girl.

Prop 102 WINS!!!!

After a long and arduous campaign, the supporters of Prop 102 were victorious. The citizens of Arizona cast their ballot in favor of marriage between one man and one woman. Prop 102 passed 56% to 44%. And just as remarkable was the passage of the marriage amendments in both California and Florida.

We appreciate the overwhelming amount of volunteers and the sacrifice of your time.

Choose Life!

There are several important issues to consider in this election.  Some of the most important, however, are moral issues.  If you don't know who to vote for, but know that voting for Life is important, watch this clip.  It leaves no questions as to where each candidate stands on this one very important issue. Remember, the next president will probably appoint two Supreme Court Justices, who cannot be removed except for death. Choose Life.

In Massachusetts in 2003, judges changed the definition of marriage to include same sex couples.

The most infuriating thing to me is that the schools will not even allow parents to be informed when and what they are teaching about homosexuality in their children's classes.

This is a quote from the preceeding link,

"In 2005, when David Parker, of Lexington, MA - a parent of a kindergartner - strongly insisted on being notified when teachers were discussing homosexuality or transgenderism with his son, the school had him arrested and put in jail overnight."

Right here in Arizona, the heat is getting turned up - check this out!

Maricopa County Board of Supervisors are debating a proposed rule change to include "gender identity and expression" to the community colleges' non-discrimination policy.

Here is some of what this policy change includes:

*Men on campus who claim they are really women will have the right to use women's   dressing rooms and locker rooms.

*Men will have the right to dress as women in class and teachers will be disciplined if they complain, no matter how disruptive the attire.

*Teachers will be required to call students by their preferred pronouns and opposite sex names.

*Your tax dollars may be used to fund sex change operations for teachers and staff.
